FAQ

What actually proves a balance is paid in full?

The receipt should show the total charged, payments received, payment dates or methods when useful, and an explicit zero remaining balance for the listed work.

How do I document multiple payments made over time?

Show the prior payment separately from the final payment, then show total paid and the zero remaining balance. This makes the payment history clear.

Can I use a paid-in-full receipt for cash?

Yes. Use the Cash Receipt Generator when the payment method is physical cash, especially when you want cash-specific wording or a receiver/signature line.

What if the customer overpaid?

Do not hide the extra amount. Show the excess as a Credit / Overpayment Balance so it can be refunded, credited, or adjusted.

How The Generator Helps

The Receipt Generator lets you enter service details, payment method, prior payment, final payment, notes, and terms, then preview a clean document and print or save a PDF from your browser. The receipt date follows the final payment date when the payment is completed. The Cash Receipt Generator uses cash-specific labels when the payment method is physical cash.
